Co-operative Values and Principles
Co-operative values are for self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. Co-operative members believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others.
Co-operative principles are voluntary and open membership, democratic member control, member economic participation, autonomy and independence, education, training and information and concern for community.
Membership Criteria
1. Geographic range = within 100 miles from Kamloops
2. Farm visit by a director in that commodity group
3. Liability insurance minimum coverage of $1,000,000
Any of the following would be an asset:
Completion of an Environmental Farm Plan
Organic Certification/Biodynamic
Best Farm Management Practises
On-Farm Food Safety
Agri-Tourism Alliance accreditation
SPCA Humane accreditation
Land Conservancy accreditation
Verified Beef production
Membership Application Process
1. Submit a written application with a production biography
2. Farm visit as above
3. Application approved and signed by three (3) board members
4. Submit a $500 membership share
- option to pay in cash or product over calendar year
